Just Do It

I am convinced we over think a decision. If I need to lose weight, just do it. If I need to exercise, just do it. And if I want to try to out the blogging, just do it. If I find this to be a burden or not fun, I can just stop doing it.

I must give credit to my friend, Robin, Pensieve who is a guru at blogging and my writer friend, Bubba or Frank, whatever you want to call him for throwing out the hook. It is evident that the creative part of their beings are fed by this venue. And thus, I am throwing out the line and trying my hand at this new adventure.

We'll see if I indeed get hooked.

OH! MY! WORD!!!

WHAT A FREAKIN' SHOCK!!

I LOVE IT!!!

A word of advice...your blog title might get you into trouble; my email flagged it as questionable and I almost missed the notice. Maybe I'm just hyper-sensitive, too, cause it sounds a little like it could be misconstrued as "the world's oldest profession" ;). I can tell you from experience, you'd be SHOCKED at what people google to end up on my blog...it's downright scary at times.

That being said, it has visual potential...fishing? knitting? Why does knitting come to mind? I have no idea, but it did.

Also, two other pieces of (unsolicited) advice: drop word verification until (and IF) you get spammed. It's little more than a nuisance to commenters, and as long as I've been blogging, I have VERY few spam comments.

Also you need to expand the way peeps can comment; right now it's set to automatically detect Google/Blogger people or for those with OpenID. I have both, but they don't tie back to my blog ('cause I'm techie impaired and never have done anything about it). Somewhere in settings I think you can alter both these suggestions and both will serve you well.

Name is CRITICAL when you're starting a blog; I had NO idea about that when I began--I thought "PENSIEVE" was brilliant. I STILL love the "why" behind why I chose it, but...unless you're a Potter fan, it doesn't necessarily resonate.

You did one thing great: you matched your URL with the title. For some STUPID reason, when I started my Blogger blog (did you ever see that one?), I used "OpenConversation" in my URL.

Huh? That NEVER made sense, especially after I learned the need for consistency.

For the record, this might be your longest comment EVAH. So glad I was able to beat Fr'nklin to being first :).
